International 384 stabilizers

Anyone know if the check chains can be replace with stabilizer bars to prevent sway on the 384. If so where will they fastened on the lift arms?
Thanks,
Fred

Mine's a german made farmall but I have another set of pins up next to where the axle Ubolts are that I run a flat stock from there to the implement pins. I'd suggest using chains w/turnbuckles for easier hookups. I'll try to find some pics this evening.

I posted this photo a few days ago of the setup I made for my 424. It's not a very complete picture, but it gives an idea of what worked for me. I don't know how similar your 384 is. If I get out to the farm later today I'll get a better photo.

"The 3-point hitch swayed badly and made using a sickle mower impossible and using a rotary mower miserable, so I remodeled some off-the-shelf aftermarket sway bars for an 8N Ford. I had to re-do the under axle brackets and shorten the bars themselves. They work GREAT."

Thanks Dave2 and Bob for all the information. Bob you are right, its impossible to pull any kind of implement and it not wander all over the field.

If you look about 2 inches from the end of the stabilizer in Bob's picture you'll see a hole in the lift arm. Common thing here is the chains/turnbuckle with one end bolted to that hole and the other where the other end of the stabilizer is. These are on both sides so no sway but also no solid bar and extra hole to line up. When not using the 3pt, a spring or bungy cord will keep them from flopping.
