560 gas pulling disc

When pulling my 8ft disc with 560 if the disc goes down to far in soil the 560 will stop and a whine comes from inside the tractor. If I stop and raise disc the tractor continues. I have checked hydro fluid and it is full. Why would this 560 have trouble pulling an 8ft disc? What is this high pitched whine? Is the hydro pump going bad and causing it to slip?

So someone installed a TA delete (factory TA delete?)? Or is the TA junk and someone removed the handle?

The 560 uses a mechanical driveline and if she is stopping forward motion without losing engine rpm the clutch is either worn out or out of adjustment.

Hi Rootsy, thx for reply. The tractor to my knowledge (bought 5 yrs ago) has never had a TA. A friend did comment that it looked like a factory delete but I really did not know what that meant. What you describe is exactly what happens. The tractor stops pulling, rpms remain unchanged, and the loud whinning starts. I then push in clutch, raise disc, and then start out again with disc slowly lowering as I build speed. This also happend last year when pulling plow but only a few times. I added Hytran as it was a little low and put away for winter. Would this have anything to do with Hydro Pump? I am hoping it is just a clutch adjustment.

The hydralic pump or hytran level have nothing to do with 'locomotion'.since it has no ta,and I assume the clutch is properly adjusted, maybe the clutch is simply worn out and slipping..To repair it,you need to split the tractor.

If it is the clutch, the more you drive it,the more it will continue to slip untill the tractor will not move at all.possibly dammaging the flywheel beyound repair.

Since you state that it has no TA that eliminates the TA clutch slipping (if engaged) and leaves you only with the main engine clutch assy being culprit.

Hydraulic and P/S pumps are driven independent of the clutch.

Looks like you're about to get dirty...

Even if the 560 had a TA, it would be a MECHANICAL TA.

You could have ZERO hydraulic fluid in the transmission, and it would still work. At least, until the bearings seized up from lack of lubrication.

Your main clutch is slipping. Adjustment is not going to fix it. Once they get so bad that they're slipping, there is no other choice but to replace.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

'd definately give it a look see though and make sure it didn't have a TA. Could be the TA clutch also if it did have a TA in it.

Had the same thing happen to me on a 504. Thoes tractors had TA's in them and when the low side went out they disconnected the linkage and took the handles off. Mine made a loud wine and it was the old junk TA that was left in the tractor. Some one welded it up before I bought the tractor.
