does anyone have a 560 diesel that has a notch in the framerail at the steering shaft and knows that the engine is original from factory
 
Show picture. Where is the notch. The steering shaft does not go through the frame rail on a Farmall 560.

Two possibilities. Someone may have cut it out to allow removal of the oil filter base without removing the frame rail or if it has a filter base from a 706 the steering shaft would have to be moved farther out to clear the base. Has the steering shaft support bracket at the starter been moved outward?
 
The steering shaft goes between the block and the frame and the frame flange has been notched so the shaft won't rub is this a factory modification or has the engine been changed was told it was original engine

I can check tonight. We've owned my 560D since it was new from the dealer in 63. Engine has never been out of tractor...
