after sitting over night reguardless of outside temperature the engine will have to be spun over a couple a dozen times to start it ,ign. is working correct,it starts up in a flooded state without chocking, no sign of carb. leaking, once started, it will start before the engine turn over 1 time runs fine until it sits overnight again ,just started this problem

Got to be a carburetor problem. As a work-around try turning off the gasoline valve at the tank when you shut it down until you can clean the carburetor. The float valve may have some trash. Try cleaning the carburetor with attention to the float valve. If it hasn't been cleaned in a while you will need a kit which will include a new float valve. Be sure you know the make before you buy the kit because three different carburetors were used at different times.

I agree sounds like a carb problem. as I understnd your post, it cranks over and starts without choking after a while.

My 140 had a problem a few years ago, the float was sticking and the drain hole in the choke housing was clogged, and fuel ran into the aircleaner. Made the tractor hard to start at times - and then one day... boom... blew the aircleaner oil bowl off and I had to play firefighter for a few minutes...put it out with dirt and then water. Now I have an old fire extinguisher nearby just in case.

I agree that the carb is probably leaking when shut off. All tractors of every make and model should have the fuel shut off at the tank when stopped. This assures two things. No flooding, and poor drivability for casual thieves. Some equipment will fill an engine with gasoline from the overhead gas tank. a Auper A will do that if the tank is full! Repair the needle and seat, then always turn off the fuel. Jim
