F-20 - what do you think

hi all,

I am looking at a farmall f-20 that smokes a little and has a stuck clutch. It is a later model because I see it has a V belt. The guy is asking 1500.00 - what is your take on the price?

not much info to go on, what about tires, rims, how much rust, foot or hand brakes, radiator leaks? with just the info you gave 100.00 would be a good starting point.

more info:

tires only 20% good - hold air, surface rust but little., foot brakes, rad - no leaks, rims good

I sold 2 F-20s that I assume would take a half day each to make run. I asked $500.00 each, and sold them.

About a year and a half ago in eastern mid-Michigan I bought a '39 narrow tread on factory rubber, good rubber, decent older paint. Stood for sale on a busy road for over 2 months. Bought for $1200. Clutch needed to be torn apart and cleaned up, and rebuilt the head. Other than that, tis a stong tractor. Yours seems a little rich. Depends on the condition of the rubber.

I like to see the value of F series going up. You know if it were an unstyled John Deere it would be worth that and more. And if you pay that for yours it makes mine worth more. It's a win win situation. And I have clutch parts.
