Have replaced bushings on front steering spindel, top and bottom on 1946 H. The bottom is fine, the top is loser now than befor. Is ther more than one top bushing for the H ? The shaft shows no wear but you can see the top move back and forth.

IH or Schwartz WFE? Tie rods in front or rear?
I just replaced the lower bearing and bushings on an IH WFE on a SH. Die to elongation, corrosion and other wear I had to machine fit each part. Helluva long day.

I have not seen where a new bushing was looser than the old one but they are not really tight. I have an M apart right now and the shaft is worn some due to someone using chassis lube instead of gear oil and then it doe not get down to the shaft there fore wears it in time. I am going to see if it will hold gear lube with new bushing and seal before I consider getting shaft built up as that is a real pain. I have never come across any different size bushing, but with todays parts hard to tell what tolerence they are being held to.
