I have a very slight leak head gasket, On a cub tractor I've retorgued the head. The engine was rebuilded about 4 years ago. I hate to have to pull the head, Restored show tractor, Any Susgestions Thanks Dave F.

Dave if you have retorqued to proper # you should not over torque you will damage studs and threads. There is not much to do but drain down anit freeze. Pull head clean both surfaces very good. Spray new gasket with copper coat, install and toque head. oldiron29

I would also have the head checked at a machine shop for being warped.
It may need to be milled.

i have to agree with jeff, pull the head and run a straight edge across it and or bring to a machine shop....the stop leak fix is something i have a problem with because that can bring on a whole new set of problems for an old motor..

If it is leaking into a cylinder, it is best to pull the head & get it checked for warpage. If it leaks to the outside , it may seal up with a good stop-leak.
