Timing gear replacement

I have a C-113 crank and I need to put a timing gear on it what is the best way to do this? Heat the gear up in the oven (and don't get caught) or on the gas grill or a torch?
Do you think a bearing heater would do the trick?

i "borrowed" the presto fry daddy from the kitchen, (deep fryer) and heated the gear in the cooking oil for about 20 minutes, and they slide on pretty good.

What temp did you heat it to? 200 300 degrees?

i use hot plate and noil in it for gears ant bearins suit you selv.

oh heat forget hot enoug not bole over causeing fire.ah you be careful too shaggy dog
