I am replacing my bolster shaft in my 300 row crop tractor. This is a new shaft, bushings, and a thrust bearing. Is there a torque spec. on the bolster shaft nut? This is a non power steering tractor with a narrow front end. Thanks for your replies.BJH

I do not know the spec, but I put weight on the shaft (tractor Wt on the front wheels, or on blocking under the bottom plate. Then I place the gear and tighten to ~150 Ft pounds. Then I use a piece of pipe or big socket and rap the gear (not bolt or nut) downward to seat the taper, then retighten to more than 150. (more like 200, but dang tight) Jim
