I just placed a picture of my Super C rerar housing with a Kosch pulley on it ..would someone please go to {help identify} and would someone be able to tell me if this housing was cut by international to make room for this drive pulley for a Kosch mid-mounted mower that i believe was ordered new by owner???
If you were to order this mower did international use this pto housing with it?..It has a 1/4" radius cut all the way accross the back and at the top of housing for it to clear...

I have a PTO housing with the identical groove in it, and it wasn't there before my father bought the mower. The Kosch pulley cut the groove all by itself. Either the pulley got a little loose, or something bent it, or somebody pushed it a little too far on to the shaft. If you check you can probably see that the edge of the pulley is polished , or even sharpened a little where it rubbed.

I don't know which pulley hub you have, but if you are going to use the mower very much, you should make sure that the pulley is as tight as possible. If it runs loose it will eventually, (in ten or twenty years), destroy the splines on the PTO shaft. Long before that it will wobble and make noise, as well as cutting th groove deeper into the housing.

I do not see a pulley being able to grind that much away....the pulley would be destroyed long before...and it would take several pulley"s to do that...i thank you for the reply and take it into consideration..if if was because of that rubbing..he must have changed it several times ...and i would think that he would have just moved it back a little on the shaft after buying the second pulley...but maybe the pulley has a hard time keeping tight ???I don"t know as i have never used one for a long time....
