3388 hydraulic pump, continued

I already posted this but now I can't find it. Anyway, the gear that drives the pump seems to be alittle sloppy and the teeth are worn. The shaft that this gear is attached to has some movement, about 3/8 of an inch. There is a collar connection on this shaft but I don't see how to move the collar so I can get the short shaft and gear out. Is there a way to move the collar so I can remove the gear and replace it?

The shaft the gear is on is actually a long shaft that goes way to the front of the ta housing. You can remove pto rear unit and get the coupler off, butttttt, with out looking in manual, I don't think there is enough room to pull gear off due to interference with other components. And, the shaft will also be worn. This was a definite problem with the closed center hydraulic pump when using the pto any amount. A gear pump conversion will be much more tolerant of looseness within reason of course. It is a major job to repair correctly.
