300 Disk Brake Removal

I have a Farmall 300 that will barely stop and want to take the brakes off and send them to OEM for their disk brake service. I have the Operators Manual but it doesn't provide details on how to remove the brake assembly. Removing the 5 bolts that hold each brake housing on looks pretty easy but can anyone give me details on the best way to disconnect/remove the brake operating rod linkage? If you loosen up the jam nuts, can it be screwed out - or should you loosen the brake housing and try to disconnect the yoke from the expander? Or how should it be done? Thanks.

Jamb nuts and unscrew the rods, the bolts will then remove the housing. The disks and expander just pull off of the shaft. Jim

Thanks Jim. So just loosen all 3 jam nuts and back out the brake operating rod? Does that affect the preload on the spring? Is it tough to line back up with the yoke when the brakes (and operating rod) are reinstalled?

I would take the spring and nuts and pivot apart and put anti seize on them. Count the turns, or measure the installed height so as to put it back as it was. Jim

Examine them first, new disks and some sandpaper may solve the problem and save a lot of money. They don't have to be perfect, just clean.

I wanted to thank everyone for their help and follow up on how it went. The brakes were pretty bad off - rust everywhere - but they came back from OEM looking brand new. I sandpapered the backing plate to take the rust film off and installed them; adjusted the pedals per the Operating Manual; and now they work perfectly. Thanks again!
