Can anyone tell me if its ok to use premium gas in a 300? Was running great while dragging, switched to planter, filled her up with premium and now she started missing. Took plugs off 1 by 1 and no change. Any ideas? Thanks

Take the plugs out and examine very closely. I bet one of them has a teeny, tiny little speck of carbon bridging the gap, and it has nothing to do with premium fuel. The other possibility is that one of the valve rockers loosened up enough that it jumped off the pushrod. You'll need to remove the rocker cover to look for that problem.

Taking the plug wires off one at a time should cause it to slow down some. If it is the same amount on each cylinder, and the miss is random, rough running, try pulling the choke just a little.
If it smooths out it has dirt in the carb. Try turning the load screw (lower front of carb)out one turn. Sometimes adding fuel can stir up crud in the tank. Make sure the system is clean. Jim

Quantas Airlines mechanics like to jab the pilots whenever possible.
On a squack sheet the pilot wrote, "Left engine missing."
The mechanics reply was, "Left engine found on left wing."
