On my "44 M model I finally was able to legibly read it after getting all the paint off. My question is that is says model "MT" what does the "T" stand for or represent? thanks in advance

A goof up at the factory...FBK would be the normal prefix for a M, so either yours is a misprint, you have the wrong number to call it a 44, or a Deere went to IH and asked for asylum.

There were M models like:
M
MV
MDV
MD
and I think the MT was the tricycle single wheel front end.

V- High Clearance
D- Diesel
T- I believe single front wheel {Tricycle}

No, T is not in IH's vocabulary. On the C,H,M and later models, the fronts were interchangeable so there was no designation.

T was used on low drum cotton picker tractors, but I think that should be a suffix to the serial number rather than calling it the model MT.
