A/B parts interchange??

Well me and my partner picked up a parts A today and we already have a B here. B is still locked up but the A doesn't seem like it but not 100% sure but the A has a broken block where it bolts to the torque tube so I hope to build a good engine from the 2 and then go from there. So if you could chose which would be the better a B or an A since I think I can use parts from both to build one good machine,. So what do you guys think?
Thanks

Depends on what you want to do with the tractor. I have a B with a woods deck on it. I mow about 7 acres of roadsids and my lawn with it. With the wide rearend it is impossible to tip it over sideways. I have an A to and it is a handy tractor. I would have to say its six of one, half a dozen of the other. What do you want to use the tractor for?

both are decent lil tractors. I hate the A though because its hard to get on and off of. B is almost as bad though. Just my opinion,..by the way, my 8n is finished, put the loader on a few minutes ago and its done done done.

I have both (well BN). The A feels a little "handier" since it's foot print is smaller and the wide front end seems a bit more stable.

I really like the BN though, it's looks and the way it handles. It takes up more space, the bugger is wide and the B will be wider.

I would probably make a B, there's a ton of As out there. If you are looking to sell it though I would make the A.

Clear as mud, right?

Depends upon what you want to do. the B is much more manuverable, but it is also harder to get implements for.

I like them both, but if I had to choose, I would take the B.

Nationwide, there may have been more As than Bs, but I don't remember seeing hardly any As where I was raised in Iowa, but lots of Bs before the C came along.

Well since you live where there is somewhat less than horizontal ground, I would do the B. Other places with flat truck patch farming I would go the other way. Putting a belt driven Hydraulic system on it when it is put together would surely help either be sold. Jim

Ya many years ago I built a belly mount sickle mower for a B I had and used a Chev power steering pump for the hyds and it worked well and I mowed my hay with that rig till I got my NH460

I think I'd go with the B. I learned to rake hay on one. The only time you really have stability issues with it is working the left side uphill. Run with the right side uphill and it's pretty stable. It's easier to get on and off of too, with the left axle and wider drawbar. And with some practice in front of a hay rake you can make a nice neat winrow end. The left tire can be swung back in under the rake frame.
