Elwood front wheel assist

Will an Elwood front wheel assist from an International 1466 bolt onto a 1206 or 1456? To a novice, like myself, it appears the axle will bolt up. True or false? Will the parts interchange on the transmission? What does it take to do this? There is one coming up for sale locally Saturday and I wondered if I can use it.

There are Elwood experts over on Red Power Forum. Their archives are loaded with Elwood and Coleman info. I know a little about early Elwoods but can't help you with the later stuff.

They made different gear ratios. If you get the wrong one you will end up with a weird tire size to get the front and rear to sync up and pull evenly, if you can make it work at all...
