Ok so here is the deal I am restoring a old beat up 560 farmall and I am trying to get off the old paint. I have got off all the dirt and started to wire wheel all the paint off but I wanted to know if there is any better way. I dont have enough air to run a sandblaster. I was thinking of buying some aircraft stripper and brushing it on and presure washing it off. Then going back and wire brushing off all the rust. Just want some people that know more than I do to chip in there ideas. Thanks Steve

Fastest way is to strip it, as you said. Then sand with 80 grit sand paper for the rust. I sometimes use a fiber wheel on an electric drill. It gets the paint and the rust. Scratches up the hood pretty good. I then sand with 150 grit which helps smooth out the scratches. Epoxy primer followed by a sandable surfacer will take care of the rest. I use PPG Omni MP 170 epoxy and MP 182 urethane surfacer. The surfacer contains isocyanates meaning you should use a supplied air breathing system. MP 181 does not contain isos, but can shrink into the scratches. So you might not want to use the fiber wheel.
