The starter switch for the rod is going bad. I'd like to swap over to a solenoid starter. I think I can just swap the switch for the solenoid, or would I have to swap the starter, too?

You"ll need to swap the original starter for one with a threaded terminal stud. (The starter you have now has a copper button terminal instead of a stud.)

Or you can take your original starter to a good starter shop and have them replace the button with a threaded stud. It"ll cost a lot less than a new starter!

I might go the starter shop route then. I was thinking it wasn't as simple as pulling the switch and sticking the solenoid on it. Thanks
