IH 100 Manure Spreader

Just done some trading and got a IH 100 Manure Spreader this weekend. Any advise would be helpful, I need at least 1 tire (5.5-16) if anyone has a cheap supplier. I will be using this on my small farm (3 horses, 2-4 feeder steers a year)I really like this compact size and the fact that I can pull with tractor or 4-wheeler. any advise would be helpful.
 
It's a nice little spreader. A little quirky for keeping things lubed, takes oil where you might think grease . . . Repro manual is available from external_link, maybe others, spells it all out. Basically though, if you keep your chains lubed, and the cam that drives the apron chains. The beaters and screw, IIRC, take grease. They turn pretty fast so you want to keep them lubed, too. Don't know how tender your bottom boards or side panels are, but a good cleaning and a coat of paint on the inside of the panels and some motor oil on the boards will stave off a lot of rot from the muck.
 
I'll tell you what you probably already know. Take care of it! Manure is he!! on steel and wood if it is allowed to lay on it long. Keep paint on it and you will be able to sell it down the road for probably more than you paid for it. Can't say that about too many pieces of equipment. Those are popular spreaders that cross into the Cub range of implements...which means $$$$.
 
I put 2- 16" snow tires on my 100. Like Scotty said use plenty of oil and grease.
Last year I put a new floor in it, I used 1" pressure treated boards with 1/4" carage bolts.
 
I used 600 x 16 bar tread tires on my 100 spreader. Could not find the 5.5 anywhere. I got them from a local tire dealer that does mostly farm and commercial tires. They did not have in stock, but got them from their supplier in a few days. As i recall they were around $80 each and were an imported brand.
