Case International 495 Opinions

I've been hunting a fairly small loader tractor. A fellow has a CIH with under 300 hours advertized. It's 4 wheel drive, shuttle shift with a loader. Said that he inherited it from a brother years ago and kept it for sentimental reasons---now is moving and has no place to store.
Does anyone have any comments on this tractor and what it might be worth? I can't find much information on the internet. Where was the tractor made? The low hours make the tractor seem almost new, but I'm worried about parts and service availability on a 15 to 20 year old tractor that doesn't seem to be mentioned much on the internet.

If the price is right take it!

We have a 2wd 495 8F/4R & 2200 loader, had it since brand new.

Great tractor, fwa would make it a fantastic tractor compared to a great tractor.

42 PTO HP, weight about 6000lb with loader. Big enough for most jobs requiring that power and small enough to do light work as well.

Tractor made at IH's Doncaster plant in the UK. Made 1991-1994.

Nearly identical to the 485 and 3220 (cosmetics) and C50 (cosmetics and perkins power)

We have no problems on parts, that basic design of IH/CIH has been around in various forms since the early 70's and made into the 2000's as the McCormick C-series (perkins power though)

Under 300 hours...20 K "here" if it is MINT. I personally would take a "brand new" 495 over any of the current 2010 models of any make equipped the same. Anything new in the 495 class is 3rd world made, less features and lighter.

I had a 495 i bought new and i found they were just a little small. They are a nice tractor but i found they are real noisy. My nieghbor still has it and likes it .So if thats the size you are looking for its great.
