I saw this on the RPM forum. Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch is not selling enough F series and older parts to make them worth keeping. He wants to get rid of them. Tractors are going for scrap when it reaches $200 a ton. He will sell the whole thing to anyone for scrap price if anyone wants them. No questions to me, that is all I know about it.

Yeah, he offered all his old tractors to me last winter at $200 a ton. Yeah right. He forgets that's broke up and hauled in. I'm not paying that and then have to haul them. Let him scap them, I don't care.

F series, other than the F30 are still pretty easy to find. He's right, there is no market for F parts right now, I have a bunch of F12/14 parts and they aren't worth hassle for what little they bring. Part of the problem is people, for the most part, collect what they grew up with. The people that grew up with the F series are getting on in years or have passed away. The letter series and up is popular now.

Im guessing at this point all the rare or hard to find parts are gone off them so all your left with it the common parts that there isnt a call for. I dont like seeing tractors scapped if can be prevented but I will say that a couple year ago I seen 2 myself for scrap. I tryed adversizeing first but was no intrest so I let them go.

I'm working on a F20 right now, but the parts I need are probably not what Mike has, like a set of good sleeves. Pretty sure I'll destroy the old ones.
