After I started sanding the old paint off my sheetmetal I began to find bondo..and more bondo...and more bondo...Well you get the point. Reason being I do not want to put all this bondo back. After I finished grinding it all out I realized the tinwork is to far gone..So Does anyone happen to know where I can find reproduction(new) or N.O.S sheetmetal parts for my farmall M. I am looking for the front cowling and grille. and a hood if I can find one. Thanks in advance for your replys.

How the heck did that get by you? Little hard to hide major sheet metal issues on a tractor...but it did so...

Some people just want the easiest path without regard to the cost. Then off you go to OEM, Steiner, etc. and buy new.

Some people like to bring a tractor in for something a little less costly. Good used parts can be bought at salvage yards, ebay, forum classifieds, etc. The searching for these can be a big part of the enjoyment of fixing up a tractor. Finding a rare part at a good price can be very satisfying. I start every day by reviewing my saved searches from ebay. I also run classifieds, drop hints on the forum, and attend auctions. You need to decide what works for you.

Check the "Photo Ads" here at YT or search E-Bay or find an old parts M. Any one would be cheaper than buying new.

Thanks for your replys, I definetly dont want to buy new..way to expensive. But I will start searching the classifieds. thanks again

A couple hundred buks will buy the hood and grill but shipping to CT is going to kill you. How big a hurry are you? You might come to Red Power Roundup this summer and pick up parts pretty reasonable. I'n the mean time you could do a quicky paint squirt on the pieces you have to get by.

There is no aftermarket sheet metal for an M except fenders, OEM used to make a grill insert for the SM/SMTA, don't know if they still do. Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch-785-548-7437 will have good used grills and hoods, maybe $50 shipping each. Bates Corp reconditions grills, likely around $500, I bought one for a Super A for $450.
