1586 Brake repair

I have got a 1586 with little or no brakes left. How bad is this job for a shade-tree mechanic? Do you have to completely break the tractor down to get to the disks? Thanks.

It is a lot of heavy work. Need to remove axle housing and planetry drop housing. If you have proper stands etc you can leave the wheel on axle. You should also have tool to install brake piston and another to help align plantery gear on assembly.
