200 single front wheel - loading bearings

What is the proper proceedure to set the pre-loaded pressure on wheel bearings of the single front wheel of my 200 ? It seems to have more side-to-side wobble than ususal. Without excessive weight on the front (like both cultivator frames) it wobbles more than normal.

It has a grease nipple on right side -- should I just grease the heck out of it ?

I've had wobbly wheels on rakes and such that were helped by grease, but if it's really wobbly you might want to adjust it tighter. I don't know how the single fronts are set up internally, so I can't help with how to do it.

I don't know how to set up the bearings in a single front but here's what I would do. Disassemble and clean the bearings, repack them with fresh grease, adjust them up good and tight (until the shaft or wheel becomes difficult to turn) and spin the shaft a few turns to seat the bearings. Then slacken off the adjustment until it's totally loose (don't spin the shaft with the adjustment loose), then adjust them up until finger tight at most. This should give you a good tight bearing with just a little play (about .001-.005" which you may need a dial indicator to measure). Sam

They dont have 'bearings'.just bronze bushings on a straight shaft.Just tighten each side good and snug.Thats as good as it gets

There is a bearing on each side I just finished repacking mine on a super c no bushings just bearings.I tightened mine with tractor jacked up till tire started to not turn and then backed it off just a bit seems to be doing fine.

Delta is yours the solid cast iron wheel or the pressed steel one? Mine was the cast solid wheel with a cast bearing carrier that bolts to wheel center.
