When I bought my M several years ago it had one of the J hooks broke on the hood and the little bracket that is fastened to the gas tank the J hook fastens to was gone. Getting a J hook is no problem. I'm wondering about how to get the bracket back on the gas tank. I'm thinking about bending a piece of metal and using JB weld to fasten it to the tank.Anybody think this would work or have a better idea?

Solder won't hold these brackets on. Be careful welding on a gas tank. Should be taken off & filled with soapy water to remove all traces of gas.
