I"m looking for what year my F 966 is. My serial nummbers are long and not like the ones I see on here. Any one have the serial number and years for the 966 and other 66 series tractors? Thanks
 
The numbers should be on the left side of the clutch housing.

Location: Clutch housing, left side

1971: 7101
1972: 11815
1973: 17794
1974: 22526
1975: 28119
1976: 31772
 
If you're reading the number off a shiny metal tag, the last part of the stamped number is the piece you're interested in. I think you want to look at the last 6 to 8 digits, however many are there following a letter.

The serial tag could be in two different locations on a 966. In late 1975 they changed the location from the side of the bell housing to down on the torque tube.
 
Thanks, So mine ends with U017851 that be 1974? and other is U010137 and that be 1971? trying to figure out why they have different decals. I know about the Black stripe 66's that are 1976 but these are not like them. Thanks
 
The first numbers are codes that indicate what equipment was on the tractor when it was built. The U indicates that it was built in the US. The last six digits are the sequential serial number.
