666,686 ?????

we have one 686 here could use another. with all the talk of the 666 here the last few days would someone explain the diff in the two tractors i've never laid eyes on a 666

The 686 and the 666 are the same. The decals are different and the later 686 came with the 310 diesel engine instead of the 312.

I read somewhere that the 686 tranny was beefed up to take the extra horse also. It sticks on my mind they just used larger bolts.

The engines are the same there is no difference in power. They are rated at 66 hp.

666 and 686 tractors are fairly rare. That's why you don't see many.

All engines are not the same. The 666 used the American built D-312. The early 686
s also used the D-312 but all later 686's used the German built D-310. The 312 is a better engine. Other than that the 666 and 686 are the very same tractor with the same HPO.
