706 clutch pedal

Hello everyone, I'm trying to remove the clutch pedal shaft off the side of my 706 to try and eliminate the side to side play of the pedal. How does the shaft come out, I got it to turn but i can't get it out. Thank you for any help.

It has a nut on the inside. Long reach from the rear.

thanks for the reply, can the nut be gotten at by removing the cover just below it, or does it have to come from the back?

I have to admit I am now kind of second thinking this. I would sure take the side cover off and take a look around. I do know it is very hard to get at with out having the top cover off but won't bet my life on which way I have got to them and I think that was just to get a wrench on the nut to tighten the stud.
