Dave H (MI), Tuesday evening I hit a pawn shop and picked up a B-D circular saw w/lazer for <$34 and peeked at the torque wrenches. I was searching the great archives that evening for info on torque wrenches, as I remembered one such posting. From 11/02/09 you posted regarding a purchase and I was wondering what you got/how you like it? Thanks in advance for your input. Also, did your wife like the burger? Seems like a good deal, burger = a better torque wrench.

My memory is she liked the burger but she likes just about ANY so that's a safe bet. I bought two torque wrenches but the one I kept was the Snap On 1/2" drive....thinking it does 75-250 foot pounds. The Tractor Vet had mentioned he liked his a lot and I got it gently used for something around $125...honestly it is like new. I used it a lot on my 2N project last fall. Great tool! The other I bought was at TSC. It filled in the gap below the 75 foot pounds level. It did a nice job but was not constructed like the other so I took it back until I can find a better one. I am slowly graduating into more mechanical work and enjoying it a lot. Getting some new and better tools just adds to it. I figure just about a month and I am back out there again...

SO...and this is the honest truth...you got me to thinking about it so I'm sending them into town to pick up a carryout. Buffalo burger..double cheese.

Dave H; Here I am, contributing to your caloric intake, hope you enjoyed it. Wonderin" if the wrench was a click type or bar? In Wausau this a.m. and heading for Menomonie and will be checking pawn shops. Nuts! our snow, except for some piles is all but gone. Now it will just be pleasure...er, ah, work rides ya know. Take care and thanks for your reply. A burger girl, sounds like a wonderful gal.

The Snap-On 1/2 drive should be a click type. At least mine is. I don't think they make the crappy kind...I mean the flexy arm kind.
I perfer the break out/click kind. It is a lot easier to use in tight spaces.

When you are in Wausau stop and get my engine driven air compressor and run it down to Janesville. :D
