Going through this new to me SH II. The entire upper pulley assembly has quite a bit of play, both laterally and radially, on the shaft it is on. The fan is turning OK but I know it's just a matter of time before something fails completely. I have never had the two pulleys off a Farmall. Don't have a schematic of what is in there.
Assume there is either a bearing or a bushing. If I tear it apart are new parts available? Does the radiator have to come off (groan)?
OBTW, I drained 5 inches of water in a 5 gallon pail out of the trans before I started seeing the 'yellow green fluid.
Anyone need a Swartz wide front for a SH?

To me it's not worth messing with. Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch can get you a new water pump. Asian, but I have one on my Super H and it gives no problems. Always easier with the radiator off, though.

There are two ball bearings in there plus a seal packing. All parts are available from CNH. The bearings are common and I'm sure they could be bought from a bearing supply company. The packing you buy in pieces and stack them until you get compression with the packing gland nut adjuster. I think my Super H took four pieces.

So what are you saying. If I install new water pump it comes with all the pieces to cure the wobbling pulleys?

The bearings are likely bad or perhaps the shaft is worn, if I remember right the pulley comes off the shaft and you put it on the new water pump. You can replace the bearings on your old one if you like, they are available from any bearing house. I replaced mine because I could not stop the dripping, but the new one leaked too, but finally stopped. Someone told me to put locktite on the threads that the nut goes on, as the nut coming loose was the problem.
