Not a internationl guy so go easy. Who makes the V-8 engines you see in the 1468's, etc. Just curious. Also could you get them in both gas and diesel? Like i said, i don't drive red. Thanks for the help, toby.
 
They were an IH engine. The DV-550 I believe. They were not available as a gas engine (at least not in a tractor). Sam
 
Plain and simple they were a pile of junk. If you wanted a 1468 you had to have two of them; one to use and one to work on so when the first one breaks down you had a spare. junk junk junk
IH made them, no not available in a gas but interesting enough they would idle on four cylinders when full power wasnt needed
 
The DV 550 (diesel,vee type) were also put in some medium duty trucks.Later they were improved(?)and renamed '9liter'.Yes,4 cyl. at idle;8cyl at full throttle.Lots of them were changed to full time 8 cyl power
 
To answer the wpecific question "who makes them", the correct answer would be NO ONE, as IH/Navistar/Binder/Fiat quit MANY years ago!
