Tire tread for steel wheels

I am a hobbyist, not a farmer. I bought an old steel wheeled manure spreader to drag around with my 1930 Regular at shows and parades. After I fix it up I would like to wrap the steel wheels with rubber tread to quiet it down on paved streets. Where do I go to get the tread? I really hate to start cutting up old tires. Thanks in advance for the help.

Old tires is where most people get the tread. Use a Sawszall to cut the tire.

i have used just a powersaw to cut them, not the wire though.

There was a thread here a while back that had a few pictures of a nice 10-20, I believe, that was set up for shows and parades. The gentleman used skirtboard rubber and the wheels looked great. If you"re interested, put "skirtboard" in the forum search and see if it can be brought back up. Below is a link to a company that makes/sells it.
