1954 c-264 compression ?

my compression readings range from 80 to 100.
How is this ?

Not enough info. What engine? Generally speaking compression shouldn't vary more than 10-15 psi between cylinders.

Oops, missed the c-264 thread title. Too early in the morning.

I believe the manual says 110-115psi but it will depend upon the head and piston combination.

If the gauge was accurate, the cranking speed rapid, and the throttle was open, it is a little low. Put a tblspoon of oil in each and retest to see if it is valves or rings. Jim
