Hi i have a farmall m that is missing the serial tag. ive heard that the block serial number matched the serial tag on the tractor but im not sure. on the block it reads BKM 110200. i need to buy a new manifold for it so i need to know if this is correct.

Engine and chassis serials on an M do not match. You did not say whether it was gas or distillate/kerosene, no new dist/kero manifolds are being produced, far as I know. Any new gas manifold will fit, though.

No way to know exactly what serial # of tractor was on that one. For that serial # engine a tractor serial # of 115000 would be close give or take a little. If the engine doesn"t have X1 stamped after or under the serial # it came as a fuel other than gasoline.

The manifolds are all the same. No need to worry about serial numbers.

And for what it's worth, I own a 1940 M. The engine serial number and the chassis serial numbers DO match.

Since your 1940 is before diesel engines started being put in the chassis that makes a difference. Through the years as diesels were installed the distance between chassis and carbureted engine serial numbers kept getting futher apart.
