Need advice on W6

I found a W6 that would make a good restoration project. According to the serial number tag it is a mid '48. The S/N tag also shows 'W BK' on the same line. What does that mean? A previous owner modified the hood via blue tip wrench to accommodate an alternator? How difficult will it be to find a new hood? The grill looks excellent. There is rubber on the front and steel spoke with rubber overlay on the rear. As it was parked by a wall and partially covered with plastic and junk so was unable to get a look at it from the rear. What is it worth?

Everybody is going to ask you if the motor is free or if it runs. That is VERY important when asking the "What's it worth" question.

You can fix the hood you have depending on how crappy the torch hole is. A good body man can roll a patch up without a problem. Another way to do it is to get a REALLY crappy hood for cheap and cut it out of that. Then there is no bending required. Just plasma cut it however big you want it and done.

No more than $ 500.I bought one recently with good rubber ,live hydraulic setup and POS loader for $ 450.00.It turned over but didn't run.Got it running, mag tuneup, and then the fun began.Replaced govenor, wrist pins and some head work aside from alot of other tin issuses etc.
