IHC 1 Ton 4x4

This is somewhat off topic for the tractor forum but I am looking for any contacts or sources of information for a 1944 one ton USMC military issue 4x4 truck my father-in-law is going through. He has owned it for years and has decided to try to restore it. Kind of a long shot here but thought I'd try.
Thanks,
Bob

Ask on oldihc.org. There's a number of people with 40's vintage IHC's. Here's a link. There are a couple other old IHC sites floating around, but this one seems to be the most knowledgeable.

It is a model M-2-4 1 ton. The first order for the Navy and Marines was in 1941 for 584 cargo trucks. Some were open cab and some were closed cabs. 70 of the 584 were equiped with winches. Later orders brought total production to 10,450 trucks. Most were open cab cargo trucks but some were fitted with other bodies. They weighed aproximately 5820 pounds and overall measurements were 197" long x 84.5" wide x 89" high. There was also a M-1-4 1/2 ton model, and a M-5-6 2 1/2 ton model.
