When I bought my GT2542 last year I wanted a complete manual set. The dealer told me that the service manual was only available on-line but gave me the codes to get it.
It worked.

I believe that number is from after IH sold them to MTD, I think. You might contact them. There is also a Garden tractor site listed under other forums, someone there will know. It won't be cheap.
