F-20 with extended PTO

When the F20 was made there was no standard for PTO to drawbar dimension. The extension is necessary to get the PTO shaft back far enough for most equipment.

The extension make the distance from the drawbar to the PTO close to the same distance on a H or M so that PTO-driven equipment made for the H & M could be used with a F-20.

It not only brings the configuration to 540 ISO standards but your original shaft is smaller than the ISO 540 shaft.. The kits were sold after they quit producing the F series and they actually included a draw bar plate that bolted to the hoop drawbar. They also make a great step and footrest. Good ones run $150 or better.

As several people here have said, this is a conversion to the new (after WW II) standard PTO shaft size, and, I THINK it gives the standard dimensions from the shaft to the hitch point. Somebody who uses this stuff will know. I had one a few years ago, and it hooked right up to PTO-driven equipment with the new (larger) PTO shaft. Before the standard was adopted, you pretty much had to buy shafts for the machine to make it fit the particular tractor (this is how I remember it, anyway--we're talking 60 years ago, gents). Shielding wasn't standard, either, but I think that some machines had shields that could be slid back and forth to fit the tractor. The standard PTO is a great idea.
