hydraulic leak

The photo below shows a t-coupling on the right side of my dad"s H. The bottom of the t has a small leak. I"m planning to take the union apart tomorrow - Any advice on what too look for would be appreciated.

Specifically, if its a JIT fitting (roughly 3/4" pipe), where can I find appropriate replacement parts? NAPA, Northern Tool, and Fleet Farm are all nearby.

Thanks!

I don't know if the ones you have listed have those or not. Look in the phone book under hydraulics, a store that specializes in hydraulics will have it. Also, the piece that screws into the fitting may have a worn oring, that may be more likely than the T itself, unless someone stripped the threads.

looks like a 45degree flare.take a sample(the fitting?)to make sure you get the right part.try any implement dealer,or your other choices.if they dont have it ,they can probably order one.

Looks like a standard JIC hydraulic fitting. The top and bottom ends are 37 1/2 degree male ends, the one on the left is female NPT. If the fitting has not recently been disassembled, look for a crack in the pipe where the flare first starts. Most easily seen from the inside. Caused by vibration on a pipe not supported near the fitting.

On closer inspection, the "JIC" fitting (female) at the bottom of the T was cracked. I went to the local CASE dealer (Trueman Welter) made a flexible hose that was spliced over the cracked JIC fitting.

Thus far, it looks like there are no leaks.
