Behlens Power steering issue

I recently purchased a M farmall with a behlens power steering unit. It's hooked up to a live pump up by the distributor that also controls the the hydraulic bucket. The bucket seems to work OK but the power steering does not work at all. What can go wrong with power steering unit? I plan to take it apart on Saturday but I've never worked on hydraulic systems. I would appreciate you assistance. thanks Dave

DAve Before you take the Behlen apart,try pulling one hydraulic lever till it bypasses. While it is by passing, try turning the steering wheel. If you can turn it, the problem isn't in the torque generator but in the Priority valve. Don't know which kind you have one is in the valve stack and the other one is inline in the high pressure line to the torrque generator. Lots of luck. Bernie Steffen
