PTO ASSEMBLY

I have a bad PTO in a 300 farmall and I was wondering if a PTO assy out of a H farmall would fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

300 most likely has IPTO where the H is regular. Would the rare 300 with regular PTO fit on a 300? That would be nearly impossible to find, but it lists it for the SMTA as an option so it probably could go on a 400/450.

You probably cannot do it at all. The rare 300 that might have a non IPTO from the factory would probably have a different length shaft, and possibly drive splines. Checking caseih.com for a cross reference would work, but a standard 300 to get it off of would be much harder to find than a good used H shaft. Jim

What is wrong with it? Are the bands adjusted right? They could need to be replaced. Don't call CaseIH, about $700. I got a good used band from external_link for the PTO on my 460, about the same as on your 300 for about $100. Steel Wheel Ranch may have a complete one-785-548-7437.
