rear light bracket, Farmall H w/pic

This light bracket was on my "41 H when I bought it. I have searched the archives and google and have not found a picture of how it is PROPERLY attached to the tractor (when I took it off, I assumed it was not attached properly since the pto lever was not connected to it).

Can someone post a picture of a properly attached light bracket?

Also, to the correct police: is this bracket correct for a 1941 H?

Thanks to all in advance!

Its from a early H or M mostly on ones with sloted transmission tops. Lighting was considered a attachment on those tractors so its hard to put a date the parts were used. can't say it wasn't on a 41 from new. Can't remember for sure the mounting, think one trans cover mounting bolt and a 3/8 hole in trans cover.

You got me curious so done some checking. That bracket 9231D is the only one shown in parts books through 1942 and at least part of 43. They went to 9231DA later and then a 6 digit #. Mounting hardware called for is a 7/16 X 3-1/4 NC hex head cap screw. 3/8 X 1-1/4 hex head cap screw lock washer and nut. 7/16 bolt would be a little longer one for the transmission cover.

thanks for that info D Slater, it helps solve one of my problems. I"m still holding out that someone has a pic of proper attachment. I"m not sure my t-deck (later type, not slotted) will accept proper attachment, which is why I am so curious.

The hole that is to the left of the number 9 is used for the rod for the pto to go through. it is up side down right now. It bolts into the one cover bolt then goes around the left corner of the cover and ends up under the cover on the one the side. This is what is used on my 39 M and H

O.K., with the information from you guys I was able to figure this out. The transmission cover I have on my 1941 H will not accept this light bracket because there is not a hole for the 3/8" bolt to go through. I happen to have a transmission deck from a 1944 H and it has the hole for the 3/8" bolt. I lined up the bracket and it seems to be just right.

Mystery solved! Thanks for the replies, I've been racking my brain over this for awhile!
