L'il peepers are out!

My 12 year old came running through the house at 6:00 this morning yelling, "I hear frogs!" Hope he's just as excited when the grass needs mowing. He claimed he doesn't care as long as it doesn't snow again.

Yeah what a long and cold winter! Glad we can finally see the light!

That is always a welcome sound. We have another month to go here in upstate NY to hear them.

Really warm here at 10AM...pushing 50 degrees. Still doubt the peepers will be calling yet but I'll put an ear out tonight and see if I hear anything. A lot of the bigger drifts are hanging on and I imagine if I walked down to the wet areas I would still see some ice.

The old timers in this area, ( I guess now I am the old timer) used to say ,"you have to hear frogs croak 3 times before the last frost. Any one else ever hear that?

They haven't even started making maple syrup here yet... I hope it continues to freeze every night for at least 2-3 more weeks...

It was a sunny 62degrees here in swmich today.
My neighbors field keeps mine wet so I walked down the road to make sure the little drain to the main ditch was open. I walked on the gravel edge of the road just to feel the small stones under foot. It felt good to walk on something other than snow and ice.
