Clutch plate thickness

I am wondering how to gage the thickness of the existing TA clutch plate to see if it is satisfactory, or should be replaced. It's about 1/4" now, but not cracked or burned. How thick is a new one?

Closer to 5/16 or a bit more. Look at a new one to assure your self it needs replaced, but replace it anyway. Noodling over the replacement can cause it to be split to repair it again. Jim

Thanx. I'll take your advice and replace it, the pressure plate and the bearing. Splitting is entertaining and enlightning, but a lot of work. It does however give my friends something to wonder about.
