M transmission seal replacement

Ok, got my liftall pump out and will replace seal on that. Also will replace seals on input shaft and transmission shaft. Question: Does the whole clutch shaft have to come out to get access to the transmission retainer and seal, or will just removing the yoke give you enough room? Haven't started this project yet but it looks like quite a project. Any answers appreciated.

Ive done that a few of times and usually had to take the whole clutch assembly out to get the shaft out to allow enough room to get the yoke off of the input shaft, BUT I have been told that the yoke should come off without having to take the clutch out.

The Yoke should be able to come off with some work. I had to heat mine with a torch and use a pry bar to get it off, but it came off after a day of heat and work. You shouldn't need to remove the clutch shaft to replace those seals.

When you refer to the yoke, you are taking about the cast piece that looks like half of a driveshaft? On my H when I did all those seals it pulled right off.

MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE DRIVE SPIDER BACK PROPERLY!!! If you don't it will tear out your clutch.
