IH 444 pto lever

PTO lever shaft is loose at internal end.
Looks to me like I need to remove the 'lift box'
[casting that seat is on ] to get access...

Just want someone to tell me that is correct before I start.

Is this a common problem with 444.....what am I
likely to find...........thanks...

We had the same problem with our 444. We made a tripod and used one of those hand cranked cable hoists to lift the whole assembly up. Worked pretty good. You"ll probably have to reach down in the gear oil and fish around for the metal piece that enages the PTO shaft. We put a cold rolled steel pin in, not the easiest place to hammer in a pin.

Hi, you can remove the lever by removing the bolts that secure him to the housing. It have a pin that engage in the collar groove. Bernard le mecano Quebec Canada
