Fuel problem IH-424

I have a 1967 IH-424 gas. Seems to be starving for fuel, can"t keep her running unless I use a lot of choke. Had some nasty stuff in the glass bowl. I cleaned that and it helped but it acted like the float was stuck. I drained the bowl (pulled the screw plug) on the carb and shot some gum cutter up inside. It helped but still is not right. I want to rebuild the carb, but am not sure how to identify the carb make and model. I want to make sure I order the right kit.
thanks for any help.

I have a parts book, TC-107 and it shows only one type of carburetor used on the 424, a Marvel-Schebler TSX 896.

I suspect everything you'd need to be still available from CNH.

You can go to the CNH parts site and check for yourself, then go to external_link with the part numbers you find to check prices and availability.

I have had my h and my 574 gas do the same thing that you are describing. After trying all the things that you have already done, I would run the engine up to wide open throttle with the air intake tube off, and put my hand over the throat of the carb until the engine would just about die. Then I would pull my hand away. Usually a few times of doing this causes an enormous amount of fuel to come blasting through the carb and also creates tons of vacuum and generally cleans all residual crap out of the carb. Just a thought that might save you rebuilding the carb.
