IH 384 HYD System

I am going to be working on a IH 384. The HYD system does not work at all. Is there anything I should be looking for. Other than the normal items. Numbers off the tractor. B5700028004773/90F20. On what I think is the Hyd pump 011.4L05695.
 
Hi the 384 Diesel that we had with Power Steering had 2 hydraulic pumps stacked one behind the other. One pump fed PS, the other 3pt hitch. There is a filter in the suction line at front of the hydraulic reservoir under the seat. There is also a couple valves on front of reservoir, one controls hydraulic flow rate to 3pt the other controls hydraulic flow to 3pt OR flow to remote hydraulic outlet. This valve must be in proper position for 3pt to work. I have seen another design where there is only 1 hydraulic pump and a splitter valve that splits flow between PS and 3pt. Also make certain draft control level (lever closest to fender) is fully forward.

Thanks Jim. I only see one pump. On the front of the engine right side looking from the seat. It is a diesel engine.
 
Hi Bill, if it only has 1 hydraulic pump and PS then hydraulic pressure line connects to a rectangular block bolted to the right side of the tractor called a "relief Valve", this splits the flow between PS and 3pt hitch.

Jim The pump lines come out of the top cover(suction line)to pump and back to a valve body under the seat. But it is mounted to the front of the top cover. Removed the top inspection plate. It is full of oil,but I can see no fluid movement with engine running. Pump is working as for as I can tell. Remove out put line and had fluid out. Controls move ok and arms move inside of cover. But lift does not work. Thanks for the information. I haven't worked on a tractor since I left the farm in 1968. Generators I can handle,tractors or still new to me.
