67 706IH gas

Looking at a 706 gas with 6500 hrs. In pictures looks to be a decent machine. Is that alot of hours for gas tractor? What are other things to look at when I go look at?

Thanks in advance
Matt

I believe i saw the tractor your talking about . I am pretty sure that with that many ours she has been rebuilt several times. My buddy's 706 is working on 3600 hrs since the rebuild all but one piston . As long as you take good care of them by using the correct oil and run the wright grade gas in them they will do well..

Overall hours is not important. What's important is hours since the last engine rebuild, how it was treated during those hours, and why they're selling it...

You don't want to buy one of these if they're selling it because it's developed a nasty piston slap in #1, for example.
