5088 radio repair

Is it a Bowman manufactured one? Same as 86 series tractor? If it is an Audiovox, you'd just as well find a new one. I've fixed quite a few Bowman units.

Another thought crossed my mind since this morning---the neighbor up the road brought his radio out of his 1460 down to fix. Radio was O.K.---mice had eaten the cones out of the speakers---sooo check the speakers if you have mice on board.

Thanks for the reply. The radio is still good it's the tuneing knob. You can't move the tuneing mark.

Try pushing the individual station buttons hard & if no results, pull each one out & then in again. Your clutch on the station selector shaft isn't closing. If no results, take the radio out & remove the cover. You can see how the clutch disengages when you push the buttons in. If the clutch is hanging up yet, use a SMALL amount of penetrating oil [1 drop] in the correct area. Don't get oil on the rubber clutch facings. Report back if problems.
